Woo Viet, un jeune réfugié vietnamien, quitte Saigon sur un bateau de fortune en direction de Hong-Kong, sa porte d’entrée pour les Etats-Unis. Sa fuite tourne vite au drame lorsque la jeune femme qu’il rencontre dans le camp de réfugiés est kidnappée par un proxénète philippin. Woo Viet se tourne alors vers un destin de tueur à gages.
