Kim Woo Jin est poète et dramaturge (auteur de pièces de théâtre) pendant la colonisation de la Corée par le Japon. Il tombe amoureux de Yun Shim Deok qui est la première soprano coréenne. Elle enregistre la chanson « Praise of Death » qui devient la première chanson pop coréenne en 1926. Le destin de Woo Jin et Shim Deok se termine tragiquement. Basé sur l’histoire vraie de Kim Woo Jin et Yun Shim Deok.
